About Me:

Welcome! I am Daniel McInturff the 7th Grade Social Studies teacher at Norris Middle School. I look forward to teaching World History this school year. We will study everything from the fall of the Roman Empire to the Age of Exploration.
I graduated from Coffee County Central High School in 2001. I then attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville from 2001 to 2004. I enlisted in the United States Navy in May 2004 and attended Basic Training at Naval Station Great Lakes. My first command was as deck seaman on the USS NASHVILLE LPD-13 from 2004 to 2006 completing a deployment to the Black Sea. As a Religious Program Specialist 3rd class I was transferred to the USS BATAAN LHD-5 completing a deployment to the Middle East in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. While enlisted I was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and the Navy Achievement Medal. I was honorably discharged in May 2008.
After my discharge from the Navy I went back to school to complete my bachelor degree with a major in Political Science and a minor in History from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. After graduating UTK I attended Maryville College to complete my teacher certification.
I have been at Norris Middle since October 2012.
